Covenant that Speaks

God takes pleasure in establishing covenant with man and He always keeps His covenant. He established and kept covenant with patriarchs of old like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Noah, etc. The old testament covenants were established with the blood of animals (Hebrews 9:18-22). However, the new testament covenant was brought about by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) that was slain.

The first covenant lacked the capacity to redeem the world from damnation and it had to be re-established by sacrifice, anytime sin was committed. Hence, there was need for its replacement with a better one. “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second” (Hebrews 8:7). The old covenant was made so that man would be guided against transgressions. It was an embodiment of laws, orders and commandments as stipulated by God. “… For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar” (Galatians 4:24). Jesus Christ instituted the new covenant with His accomplished mission of redemption of mankind from the wrath of law. “… to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel” (Hebrews 12:24). In law, a mediator is an intermediary or better still an advocate who stands in gap for somebody or some people. In this case, Jesus is mediating for the entire sinning and dying world on the pedestal of His blood. It is pertinent to note that blood is very important to God, and that accounts for the animal sacrifices in the old testament. “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22).

The blood of Abel, killed by his brother (Cain), was crying for vengeance. Conversely, the blood of Jesus continuously speaks mercy, grace, forgiveness, righteousness, holiness, deliverance, etc. The blood of Jesus is the seal of the new covenant which gives access to God’s throne of grace and mercy. At the drop of His blood on the Cross of Calvary, an end was brought to satanic rule. The voice of the blood of Christ sounds so loud that it silences every power of demonic oppression. Beloved, you need to be engaging the blood of Jesus to neutralize every demonic and occultic covenant established against your life and family. God’s covenant exclusively belongs to His children, it is not for anyone outside the perimeter of salvation. Accept Jesus Christ into your life today and see the covenant speak for you. PEACE
