Strength for Speed II

Do you know that where you draw your strength from really matters? Prophet Habakkuk recognized God as the source of His strength who will make his feet like deer’s feet, and make him walk on his high hills (Habakkuk 3:19). Some people receive their ‘strength’ from alcohol, drugs or other substances, which leaves them depressed and miserable afterwards. The analogy of the deer or hind’s feet in the above scripture, gives a vivid picture of the strength required for the race and journey of life. Walking up a hilly terrain requires a lot of energy and strength, but the deer’s feet is strong and made for that task.

Prophet Isaiah identified God as the One who gives the real and authentic strength. *“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength”* (Isa. 40:29). Two categories of people are mentioned here: the weak and those without might. He gives power to the weak but He increases the strength of those without might. If you are spiritually weak, you need power that comes from the above and; He will increase your strength, if you don’t have might. Whichever category you fall into, He is the source of power and strength! Why do you need strength and power? The Prophet gave answer to this when he said *“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall”* (Isa. 40:30). This is an infallible prophecy which is gradually being fulfilled today. Many people are failing and falling today because they lack divine strength to combat the spiritual challenges of the present. Prophet Isaiah gave a spiritual analogy on renewal of strength; however, the key is waiting. *“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint”* (Isa. 40:31). The speed of an eagle is dependent on its periodic renewal of strength! The eagle goes to a secluded place, usually on the mountain/hill top, wait for its old feathers to be removed. It waits further for the new ones to grow before it begins to fly again. Friend, you have a role to play if you want to move at the supernatural speed! You must wait on God and tarry on Him in prayers, meditation on His word, and unwavering faith in Him.

Beloved, you must remove the old feathers and separate yourself unto God. You must stand out of the crowd, like the eagle, for you to stand tall among your peers and colleagues. Receive the strength for the supernatural speed in Jesus name. God bless you. *PEACE*
