Knowing God - Part 2

Last week, we started the series on the above topic which is crucial to enjoying our walk with God. It was mentioned that knowing God begins with the revelation of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Knowing God goes beyond scratching the surface of His word but digging deep into the realm of rhema. It entails having an in-depth knowledge of God's word and meditating on it, until there is revelation; opening of the eyes of our understanding and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal the mystery of His word. May we receive understanding as we continue today.

Anyone that will know God must have the experiential knowledge of God. I mean like Moses, he or she must have 'the mountain top experience'. “Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain. Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days…” (Exodus 24:15-16). The mountain top is a place of prayer and life-transforming experience with God. It is a place where God is disposed to reveal Himself to us, where our longing and craving is for God. In a nutshell, it is a place of unspeakable experience with God! There are some preconditions for having this experience. The first is right disposition. The state or condition of your heart determines what you receive from God. King David asked a question which he later answered in Psalms 24:3-4, “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart…” Friend, what is the disposition of your heart whenever you are in God's presence? God will reveal Himself to only those who are connected with Him in the Spirit! Don't allow your heart to be distracted when meditating on God's word or praying to Him. The second precondition for having the mountain top experience is your motive, desire and will. What is the desire and request in your heart as you approach God? Is your longing for God? The third is staying in a solitary and secluded environment. This is an environment that is free from noise, dazzling sights and other forms of distractions. God reveals Himself to His children who seek Him in quietness. Prophet Elijah had that experience when God spoke to him in a still small voice

Beloved, do you really know God? If you are not sure, you need to come to your Creator now! Give your life to Jesus Christ today and know the unstoppable God! Happy New Month! PEACE.
